At the recently concluded 23rd National University Students' Athletics Championships, our university achieved outstanding results, securing two national championships, along with one third place, one fourth place, one sixth place, two seventh places, and one eighth place.
Zhang Miaomiao from NPU high-level athletics team delivered an exceptional performance, winning two gold medals in the Women's Group C (Elite Group) triple jump and long jump events. Notably, she has already claimed three national championships and one runner-up title in national competitions this year! Measuring the distance of her dreams with her feet, she impressed both judges and spectators alike with textbook technique and a commanding advantage. This achievement represents not only podium glory, but also the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work.
The championship attracted over 3,600 athletes and coaches from 490 universities nationwide, marking an all-time high in both participation and scale. The competition was divided into four groups: Group A (Sunshine Group), Group B (Vocational College Group), Group C (Elite Group), and Group D (Super Group). Athletes competed in 27 major events and 161 minor events over six days and twelve sessions.
Our university sent 14 athletes to the competition. They performed with courage and resilience, demonstrating determination in the face of challenges and ultimately achieving excellent results.
